WORLD MEDITATION DAY 2025

Sunday, 21 December

Global Group Meditations at 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM in your local time*

Dear Friends of Meditation Around the World,

A new light is dawning for our planet.

Last year, the United Nations General Assembly unanimously declared December 21 as World Meditation Day — a day for humanity to pause together in peace. On that day, more than one million people across every continent closed their eyes in the silent unity of meditation. The collective stillness of those moments echoed across nations, and in its wake, new dialogues of peace and cooperation among nations began to emerge.

This year, as the world once again turns toward the solstice — the moment of deepest stillness in nature — we are called to create an even more powerful wave of coherence, harmony, and hope in world consciousness.

At the inaugural event in 2024, Tony Nader, MD, PhD, successor to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and global leader of the Transcendental Meditation® organization, gave the keynote address at the United Nations about meditation as humanity’s universal bridge — connecting heart to heart, mind to mind, across all boundaries — the most powerful, scientifically verified method for creating coherence in individual and collective consciousness — the consciousness-based technology that can finally achieve world peace.

Now Dr. Nader invites every meditator, in every tradition and system, to join together and again encircle the Earth in a living current of peace.

A Message from Dr. Tony Nader

“We hope that not just one million but many millions of people will meditate together this December. The peace we create within ourselves instantly becomes peace for the world.

“Whatever form your meditation takes — mindfulness, prayer, contemplation, Transcendental Meditation, or any silent inward practice — please join us.

“Begin your morning meditation at 8:00 AM, and your evening meditation at 5:00 PM, in your own local time* on Sunday, 21 December 2025.

“As the Earth turns, time zone by time zone, our shared silence will sweep across the globe — beginning in New Zealand and traveling westward with the sun. In this way, World Meditation Day will unfold over 33 hours of continuous global peace. Together, we can awaken coherence in the heart of humanity.”
